Thank you for backing the Rise and Fall campaign on Kickstarter!
We have received the funds from Kickstarter and all orders have been imported into the pledge manager for this campaign: BackerKit. It is now time to close your order. Every year we have a small number of backers who ignore these BackerKit messages and end up not getting their Rewards due to not completing their orders. If you do not log into BackerKit and complete your order before fulfillment begins, your order will be cancelled.
On BackerKit you will be able to change your Reward level, and you will be able to add items to your order. You will also provide your delivery address and you will arrange payment for any balance due on the order.
If you pay via PayPal any balance due will be collected at the time you complete the order checkout process. If you pay via credit card your card will be charged after we close the pledge manager next year. We will notify all backers before credit cards are charged.
We will transmit Updates related to the schedule for closing the pledge manager and ending Late Orders. Generally speaking we close it 8 weeks before we begin fulfillment. The current plan for Rise and Fall is to fulfill in May of 2025 so we plan to close the pledge manager in March of 2025. If those dates change we will provide lots of notice to the community to ensure everyone is aware.
You can see the current milestones and status of all our Crowdfunding campaigns here:
https://alderac.com/kickstarter
If you have never used BackerKit before or if you are not receiving email from BackerKit about your order and need to gain access to it we've prepared a page on our website that explains how to use it.
We have set limits on the available quantities for some content produced in previous years. If we sell out of any of those items we'll evaluate the level of demand and decide if we want to make more of that item and if so, we'll change the available quantity and reactivate the item. We have good quantities on hand of almost every item and don't anticipate a sell out of any of them this year but there is a small potential that we might sell out one or more older items. This will not affect the two new Quests being produced for this year's campaign, or sleeves, or the Superdeluxe Storage boxes, or the Warlord Add-on.
Speaking of the Warlord Add-on, it has been added to the orders of all Kickstarter Backers who were subscribers to our Newsletter list as of the end of the campaign on Kickstarter. If you log in to BackerKit, and review your order and you do not see the Warlord Add-on on your order, and you believe you were eligible to receive it for free, please contact [email protected]. If you were not a Newsletter subscriber or you made a Late Order you can purchase the Add-on for $10.
There are a couple of issues you may encounter while completing your order on BackerKit. The first relates to the weight of your order being too large to ship in one package. We set a maximum weight limit on orders. That means that if your order is too heavy you will need to make more than one order. You will know this has happened if the cost to fulfill your order becomes an irrational number ($99,999).
If you need to split your order into more than one shipment we've prepared a page on our website that explains how to do that.
The second issue you may encounter is that we don't ship to your country or region. You may also see an irrational shipping cost ($99,999) if you attempt to select a country or region we don't service. We only ship to the following locations: the United States; Canada; the UK; the EU (plus Norway, Switzerland and Lichtenstein); Australia & New Zealand; and select countries in Asia (China (including Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, and Singapore). If you want to complete your order and you live in any place other than those listed you need to arrange for a freight forwarding service to accept delivery of your order in a country or region where we do deliver.
If you decide after completing your order on BackerKit that the total price including tax and shipping is higher than you were led to expect and you believe the total amount is unreasonable you can email [email protected] and we will cancel your order and issue a full refund. If you live in a country or region we do not service and you want to cancel your order, email [email protected] and we will cancel and refund your order.
The final issue we need to address is AppleID. Kickstarter allows you to use your AppleID and Apple allows you to configure any service using your AppleID as private. If you have done so the email we receive from Kickstarter associated with your order is useless to us (and BackerKit). The only people who can use it are Kickstarter themselves. If you have done this you must contact us at [email protected] and we can change the email address on your order to something that actually works. Every year we have a few customers who ignore these requests and have their orders cancelled as incomplete because they never received any notices or reminders about their order on BackerKit.
If you have any other questions or concerns about your order please email [email protected] and we'll be happy to help!

We expect Late Orders to go live next week (starting Monday the 3rd) but it may take a few days longer. We will post an Update when the Late Orders goes live. DO NOT MAKE A LATE ORDER IF YOU MADE A KICKSTARTER PLEDGE
- The Pledge Manager for Kickstarter backers on BackerKit will be opened three to six weeks from today, with the exact date depending on when Kickstarter transmits the funds from this campaign to us. You will receive an Update and an email from us and emailed notification from BackerKit when BackerKit is ready to being processing your Kickstarter orders. Until then, you do not need to take any action.
- We’ll Update you periodically over the next year when the campaign hits a major milestone. The next major milestone will be when we begin the production process by approving files; that will happen several months from now.

When BackerKit is ready to allow you to complete your Kickstarter order, you will be sent an email from BackerKit with a link to access your order. Use that link to complete the checkout process. You can change your Reward, and include add-ons with your Reward. The system will calculate the amount due for shipping & tax and present you with a final total at checkout.
BackerKit does NOT charge credit cards at the checkout step. It does process PayPal payments immediately. For people paying by credit card, we will charge your card in the future; we’ll email you to let you know when we will be running those credit card charges before we do so.
APPLE ID USERS: Please note - if you use your Apple ID to access Kickstarter and you chose to have Apple hide your email, the email address we receive from Kickstarter is useless. Neither we, nor BackerKit can contact you via email about your order. Please email [email protected] for assistance if you have your account configured in this manner.
How To Get Your Free Warlord: Saga of the Storm Thunderstone Quest Content
If you are a subscriber to our newsletter as of the day we open the Pledge Manager on BackerKit for Kickstarter orders we will add this content to your order for free. One will be added for free per order. If you are not a subscriber to the newsletter, or if you want more than one, you'll be able to purchase them for $10 each.

alderac.com/newsletter
If you sign up and you're already a subscriber, there is no negative effect. It's safe to subscribe to be sure.
At any time if you have questions, concerns or comments please email [email protected]. We will monitor the Comments channel periodically but the best way to get a response from our team after the campaign ends is via email.

Quest 17: The All-Consuming Hive Quest Details

As the Champions of Thunderstone Keep know all too well, all sorts of bizarre creatures live beneath the earth's surface, but no one could anticipate those that have now erupted from below. Enormous worms, big enough to swallow entire villages, broke through the surface across the countryside forming towers of carapace-covered flesh, visible for miles around in any direction. In the aftermath, people gazed on in horror.
Gigantic pores opened across the towers, releasing horrific insectoid creatures to ravage the countryside. They attacked villages, destroyed crops, and further upended life throughout the region. But the real terror came when the locals realized what they were after: the people themselves! Whenever possible, these vermin were capturing villagers and retreating back into their tower homes with them. Each raid was more horrifying than the last; whatever the creatures were doing in their citadels, it brought about stronger, more adaptive creatures each time, as bizarre man-insect hybrids were unleashed upon the world.
But hope is not lost. There are reports from those brave enough to venture into the towers that the captives live … for now. And so the race is on to rescue these poor souls before it’s too late and uncover the secrets of these dark, living fortresses to restore the land to peace.
In Quest 17 The All-Consuming Hive the Champion will enter a chthonic realm where many heroes have vanished - and with luck, some may yet be rescued!
A living, seething lair of loathsome creatures is the setting for this Quest. Within the chambers the minions of the demon Sidura the Sorceress seal their prey into crystalline cells where they undergo unspeakable mutations.
Sidura’s minions include: Wormlings; the Hive Horde; and Hybrids
Stalwart heroes join your party within the Hive. These brave souls each have their own reasons to dare the challenge with you. Some fight for vengeance; some hold out hope of saving lost loved ones; others stand opposed to the evil of Sidura. Each will be crucial to your victory.
Those who dare the Hive with you include: Jaxon Esford; Hayden Hart; and Lady Bruda Ironcrown
The All-Consuming Hive presents our Champions with a whole new type of objective. The dungeon is filled with new Captive Ally cards that can be rescued throughout the course of your adventure. These cards are Static, and so they will join you on your Quest in whatever small ways they can, but they will offer a greater reward if you manage to return them to their home in the Village.
But rescuing them won’t be easy! In addition to the bizarre denizens of these towers, the dungeon itself is a living thing, capable of being harmed and harming you back, presenting an entirely new challenge. To reflect this, Champions will now be able to battle the monsters in the dungeon OR the Dungeon Tiles themselves. But they’ll have to be careful. The best way to make headway in solving the mystery of the towers is to deal with the monsters that call them home. At the same time, ignoring the captives only makes the monsters stronger, and Dungeon Tiles need to be dealt with if the Champion hopes to rescue the Captives.
If you delve deep enough you may eventually reach the Mind Chamber where Sidura works her fell transformative magic on those her minions have captured.
And there, in the suffocating dark, you will defeat this menace from beneath the earth.
Quest 17 Twilight Souls includes 346 game cards, 6 dungeon rooms, 1 Prestige Class board (double-sided), 1 Guardian Board for Barricades Mode, 25 plastic and 25 cardstock dividers, 18 randomizers, a rulebook and its own box.
Quest 17 The All-Consuming Hive is included in the Rise and Fall Reward for this year’s Kickstarter; an $80 value for $60!

Eons ago, long before the formation of Thunderstone Keep, the realm of Aetheria was established by the followers of Yltana, a goddess of the light. Their devotion to her was so great that the goddess chose them for a special task: to protect and keep the light for the sake of the world. She took their land and all its denizens, a massive territory, and raised it high into the sky, hidden away from the eyes of those on the surface below. There, the Aetherians worked to keep the light shining.
Eventually, Yltana’s time came to an end. In an act of blessing for the Aetherians and the world they protect, she spread her essence far and wide, imbuing every creature living with a new light of their own, living within their very souls. This Soul Light is all that is left of the goddess and her gift to the world.
Long ago, Prince Musaid grew close to Yltana, and the two fell in love. But the goddess refused to give in to her feelings out of responsibility to her realm and her purpose, refusing the prince’s advances. In rejection and loneliness, he left Aetheria, presumably forever. But in his absence, he formed a new partnership with forces of darkness. Returning to discover Yltana dead, he has turned against her followers and all who bear the Soul Light, seeking to blot out every single bit, plunging the world into his own lonely darkness.
The Champions take to the skies to confront the Child of Darkness in Quest 16 Twilight Souls.
All who dare confront the Prince will risk falling to their doom. The Prince’s minions, twisted fallen and winged terrors strike fear into all who oppose him.
Your foes will include: the Fallen; the Corvaxis; and the Skylords.
You will not venture alone into the cold blue heights. On your Quest you will be joined by heroes confident in their climbing skills and mounted on great birds more than capable of taking the fight to the Prince.
Your newfound companions include: Odell Garothmuk; Belkar Hammerwing; and Birinus, the Inquisitive
This new Sky Realm is kept aloft by the supernatural light that permeates every bit of it, including the people and creatures that live there. This is represented by Soul Light, a new token used throughout the game. As you gain and heal wounds, you’ll lose and restore these new tokens.
You begin the game with Soul Light tokens filling your empty wound slots, and they can be used to produce light while exploring the Dungeon. You will be able to turn Lantern Tokens into Soul Light, if you have the open wound slots, and you will be rewarded with more as you adventure!
Not only do Champions have to worry about the dark forces seeking to devour their Soul Light, but flying through the skies carries with it the risk of falling. After each Dungeon Phase, Champions must check to see the impact that the battle has had upon their Soul Light. Should they lose too much of this precious commodity, they fall, taking extra damage, threatening to sideline them from the battle!
You may choose the Prestige Class Lamplighter to give you more chances to survive the deadly battles against the forces of Prince Musaid.
If you fly high enough, you will eventually reach the Prince’s citadel of Vimana
And there, light willing, you will defeat this menace from the skies.
Quest 16 Twilight Souls includes 346 game cards, 56 Soul Light tokens, 6 dungeon rooms, 1 Prestige Class board (double-sided), 1 Guardian Board for Barricade Mode, 24 plastic and 24 cardstock dividers, 24 randomizers, a rulebook and its own box.
Quest 16 Twilight Souls is included in the Rise and Fall Reward for this year’s Kickstarter; an $80 value for $60!

Champions of Thunderstone!
We are pleased to announce that the campaign has reached its funding goal, and we will be able to proceed to production and bring you this year’s new Quests and all the other content featured in the campaign!
Your support is the foundation of Thunderstone Quest. Without it, AEG would not be able to continue to design, develop and deliver great new Quests annually. Because of you Thunderstone Quest continues to be one of AEG’s most successful product lines.
Your help is still needed. The more we raise during this campaign the wider we can market the game, increasing the size of the Thunderstone community. Please share a link to the campaign on your social networks to help us reach even more potential backers!
